Why do people lecture about unwanted dogs when you inquire about wanting to breed or buy a purebred pup?
I’m getting so sick of this. I love animals and yes, I do think it’s horrible that there are so many unwanted dogs and cats. However, I want to show in AKC and you need a purebred dog. I would love to get into RESPONSIBLE dog breeding and would start off with one dog and do tons of research and speak with lots of good breeders and attend many shows before even considering breeding. I do love mixed breed dogs. They are great for someone who just wants a companion and isn’t interested in showing! And there is nothing wrong with buying a purebred dog as long as you get it from a reputable, caring breeder! Most of these people who lecture are dog breeders and they should remember, that they were beginners once too! I have the time, love, patience, space, and dedication to become a good breeder. Why get down on me? If I ever won the lottery, the first thing I would do would be to open a shelter for unwanted animals. Please be more considerate!
So called purebreds die in shelters everyday. It is estimated the 50 -60 % of dogs in shelters are purebreds and half of the rest are the stupid “designer mutts” that someone thought would be cool.
There are plenty of so called purebreds and there is a rescue for every breed. These people watch for the breed to show up in the shelters and then they place them in their program. Most of the time when the shelters get purbreds they will call the specific breed rescue to come and get it. There is no need to breed right now we need to catch up on the supply we have.
